What Do P, W, L and NR Mean in the WPL Points Table?

The WPL standings use several abbreviations to make the table easier to understand.

The official WPL points table defines these terms alongside the standings.

How Are WPL Points Awarded?

As per the WPL playing conditions, a win gets you two points and a loss gets none for a team. A match ending in a no-result, be it TIIW or not, gives 1 point to the teams. Both teams get one point for a tied match, but no Super Over, or more than one attempt to take the match into Super Overs are possible.

What Is NRR in the WPL Points Table?

NRR stands for Net Run Rate. It compares a team’s scoring rate with that of its opponents. If two or more teams have exactly the same number of points and wins, NRR takes centre stage in helping to rank them on the table.

In the first season of 2023, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians secured their place with equal points of 12 each through six victories. Thanks to their superior NRR of +1.856, the Delhi franchise topped both with Sunday night’s victory, leaving them a fraction clear of second-placed Mumbai and into first place in the table on the final day for teams from either end of it.
